A Day in the Life

Stories of two growing children mixed with ramblings from the ether of my mind.

My Helper

When we got home from dance today, my little girl turned into my little helper.  With her brother secure upstairs she decided she wanted to help me cook dinner tonight.  This works well when her brother also isn't trying to get in the action.  Since dinner was already ready and in the oven, I decided she could pick our side veggie and then help make garlic bread.  She loved it!  It was kind of funny as apparently we don't have a small brush (like where did it go?) so she had to use the one for the grill.  Made it a little more entertaining, but then again maybe that was part of the appeal.  Oh, and then she helped set the table.  Sweet.  I love a little helper that actually helps!  :-)

Toys - why bother?

Why bother with toys when you can play with, well anything such as a pasta box while Mommy is making dinner like this.

Then again our little man does prefer his toys, especially his cars.  Which is funny that he calls them cars as outside the house anything on the ground is a "choo choo" and anything in the sky is an airplane.  But anyway, he loves his cars, trucks, trains, etc.  Can you tell?

Sneaky boy

Look who decided he needed a little computer time.

and had to check to make sure Daddy didn't see him.

and then back to the computer.

apparently he was worried about Daddy catching him in action, but not Mommy with the camera.

Gotta love this little man!

Beach Trip!

So the kids went with me to spend a week with Grandma at Myrtle Beach.  It was extra special for them as neither had ever been to the beach before (shame on us I know).  The two of them had a blast!  They spent time on the beach

time in the pool

they got to go to Ripley's aquarium

and ride on the rides

and she got to enjoy the Children's Museum on the last day while her brother napped.

Fun, fun, and more fun!  (And I've added a ton of photos in the photo gallery from the trip.)
