Our daughter is into celebrating Valentine's day this year.  Any holiday that encourages art projects and includes treats is a hit in her book!

Yesterday in addition to making a Valentine for her daddy she helped me make 4 small heart cakes and cupcakes.  Let's just saying icing anything is a passion of hers. 

I love how even when she looks up at me she doesn't quit icing her cake.

She did the base pink coat of icing on her cake as well, but since I was covered in icing as well at that point there are no pictures.

And here are her two finished cakes

And believe it or not she actually decided it was done before she ran out of icing.  I was rather impressed.

And here is one of my cakes.  I was boring and did the same design on both of mine.

And here are our cupcakes.  We ended up with one with white icing as we ran out of pink.  Oops.

And she is very excited to eat her cake today!  Chocolate cake with cream cheese icing - I can't wait myself!

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone!

This morning we woke up to snow on the ground.  This thoroughly delighted our daughter who was quick to volunteer to get the paper.  Which hasn't happened too much in the cold as of late, but she was excited to get the paper in the snow. 

I can't say that I minded one bit, but then I did step onto the front porch to snap a few pictures myself.  Definitely cold out.  But she was all smiles.

And the snow was very pretty.

Last time the snow was covered in lots of sleet.  This time it was great snowman making snow, but it just didn't last long.  It never stuck to the roads (and they did treat too) which was nice as it was snow on the weekend again.  Personally I'd rather be stuck in the house on a weekday.  :-)
