I want to wish my mother and all the mom's out there a Happy Mother's Day!
Motherhood is definitely one of the hardest jobs there is, but it has some wonderful rewards. For me it is getting to be the mom of these two little angels (see how innocent they look?).

Sometimes together they are the sweeter than you could ever imagine. During those times, when one laughs the other does too.

And when one dances, the other follows.

These two can be quite the sight.
This morning when I woke up and went to let her know she could come downstairs (she is so kind as to let us sleep past dawn on the weekends by playing quietly in her room) the first words out of her mouth were "I thought today was supposed to be mother's day!" So I said, well yes it is, but she was upset stating that it meant I was supposed to be sleeping. I explained that I was awake and happy, I had already "slept in." So as soon as we got downstairs she ran over to get the small package she had wrapped up from school. She had made me a sweet bookmark and was so proud. She had every reason to be. But I found it overly cute that felt the need to show me how it worked. :-)
She has started helping me on Sunday while the "boys" go to the cookie store (also known as the grocery store). Today she cleaned up the playroom upstairs without any protest. Typically that isn't the case. She might point out that he helped make the mess (which is true), but today not a word. And then she came downstairs and cleaned the storm door, sliding glass door, and the coffee and side tables. She was such a big help. And then she went out shopping with me this afternoon. I enjoy when we slip away and spend time together. She was helping me get supplies for my cake decorating class. She was so eager to help as it means there will be cake to sample. And it was one more chance to tell me details she'd like on her birthday cake. If she had her way she would get a 3 tiered square wedding cake. She is my little princess.

My little guy had no real understanding that it was Mother's Day, but he made me a cute ceramic heart with a handprint at school. And he gave me hugs. And this boy gives great hugs! :-)

And then to top it all off the two of them helped pick out a sweet card for me and gave me a rather large present. I had NO idea what it was. The box was huge and HEAVY. I couldn't even come up with a guess. They helped me unwrap my new Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer! Wow! My kids have great taste! :-) (And the help of a wonderful Daddy!)
