The kids decided that yesterday was the day to do our pumpkin carving. So we brought the pumpkins in from the porch and got to work. The first words out of her mouth were about how cold her pumpkin was.

Yes, it was rather chilly. One of those crazy weather changes gave us a rather cool day. The pumpkins felt like they'd been in the fridge. But she quickly got over that. :)

I am not sure he even remembered exactly what carving was, but he was all in.

Daddy was the one to cut the tops off and he started with hers.

And she went to work on scooping out the pumpkin guts. Which she called "disgusting" until it was pointed out that she liked to eat pumpkin. And then she quickly quit as I think she was afraid it might mean no eating pumpkin in her future and she wasn't ok with that. (Even though I cheat and buy pureed pumpkin.)

Then it was time for him to get started.

He talked a good game about cleaning out his pumpkin.

But we quickly learned that there was no way he was actually going to touch the inside of the pumpin with his hands.

He was quite proud though when he finally got some on his scoop. One whole seed! :)

Let's just say that Daddy did all the work. :) While we got to carving, she got busy separating out seeds to roast -a snack can be very motivating to touch cold pumpkin again!

And here are the finished jack-o-lanters. Her Pooh bear...

and his Franken-Pluto.

And then the nearly impossible all in one picture.
