The kids were big into sand castles this year.  Well, they were big into designing and decorating at least.  I got to provide a lot of the manual labor.

And for some reason they absolutely loved to fill up the moat with water.  They would go back and forth for a small bucket of water, pour it into the moat, and go again.  And again.  And again.  And, hey who I am to say anything - it didn't involve any effort on my part.

She was very big into decorating, which shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that knows her.

He would decorate too, but he wanted to make his own additions to the sand castle.  He got pretty good at it.

But he wasn't quite as happy to have his picture taken with the final product.  Though I'm not sure there ever was a final product.  They liked to work on it some and then go splash in the waves for awhile.  And then they'd work awhile longer and then back into the water.  Oh, and mix in way to many trips to count to fill up their buckets of water to fill the moat.

To quote our daughter it was "awesome."  "The best day ever."  (Hmm... wonder what movie inspired that one.  :)  And yes, she said it every single day.)
