I had always heard that it took some incredibly high number of times to acquire a taste for a food, so you should keep introducing it to a child. Well, that theory fell flat with our daughter. She loved everything the very first time. Except for tomatotoes for a short period of time. But then one day she decided she wanted my pico de gallo and has loved them from that moment on. In fact I can't readily name any foods that she doesn't like. And asking for a favorite almost always produces a different answer.
On the flip side of that has been our son. He has always been one that you have to force that first bite in for him to realize that he likes something. Some of his favorite foods have been found that way. If you change the way a food looks it would affect his desire to eat it. He has shown that pasta is not pasta, lol. To him penne is most definitely not the same as bowtie. So it has been nice lately as he has started to venture past his known favorites. And lately that has included asking for seconds of salad. And with a salad he has discovered a love for tomatoes - especially grape tomatoes. In fact leftover tomatoes isn't a problem I see us having in the near future.

Here he was more than happy to finish them off for us.

And this was after helping to finish off the blueberries we had. But how can you say no to a face like that?

I think the farmer's market will be fun with both kids this summer. Maybe I'll be able to get some then? :)
